Submission to the Sharm El- Sheikh joint work on implementation of climate action on agriculture and food security
Alliance2015 endorsed partner CSOs’ contribution to a forthcoming UNFCCC workshop discussing implementation of climate action on agriculture and food security, as part of the Sharm el-Sheikh Roadmap.
This endorsement positions us on this crucial topic, providing key recommendations to advance climate resilience and emphasizing the importance of systemic, holistic approaches to food systems that address both climate change and food security, and of policy measures that embed the experiential knowledge of local populations.
Highlighting the need for greater support for agroecology and inclusive participation of those most affected by climate change, Alliance2015 joins the call for more accessible climate finance, the integration of sustainable agriculture in national climate plans, and the active involvement of vulnerable groups in policy discussions.
